A palatial Club house in Pall Mall

The Club house, with its impressive facade and rooms designed by Sir Robert Smirke, is arranged as in a large town house of the early 19th century.

The decoration and furnishing of the rooms are kept in a high standard of repair and the spirit of the period has been maintained. Numerous portraits of founders or famous Members decorate the rooms and are displayed throughout the Club house. There is a fine collection of early Oxford Almanacks, and we are pleased to have originals of newspaper cartoons which treat Members in a light-hearted - if satirical - light.

The fully-renovated bedrooms, all with private bathrooms, are situated on the third and fourth floors which are accessible by two passenger lifts.

At the top of the magnificent marble staircase (restored to its former glory in 2005), which connects the first and second floors, are the three reading libraries and the Smoking Room - a spacious, comfortable room open at all times and occasionally used for Club and private receptions.

On the first floor are the Coffee Room (our splendid a la carte restaurant, open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner), the Morning Room bar and the Blomfield Room (where light lunches are served). The Drawing Room offers a relaxing place for coffee, afternoon tea or drinks (with full waitress service), and the new Pall Mall Room Business Centre, with computer access and meeting areas, is available free of charge to all Members. The Princess Marie Louise Room is the perfect venue for a private luncheon, dinner or business meeting; it is one of the most beautiful rooms in London clubland.

On the ground floor are the Squash Bar (where the plasma TV is also located), plus two further function rooms available for hire, the air-conditioned Marlborough Room and the King Edward VII Room.

In the basement are the two Squash Courts and the Billiards Room.
